Question: Are the seafood and fish caught by Non-Muslims permitted to eat?
There is nothing wrong in eating the seafood and fish caught by Non-Muslims.
Allah the Almighty commands:
“Game from the sea and its (the sea) food have been made lawful for you and for the travelers as subsistence.” (5:96)
Prophet Muhammad said:
“The water of the sea is clean, its dead is permitted to eat.” (Abu Dawud, Taharat 41; Tirmidhi, Taharat 52; Nasai, Taharat 46; Ibn Majah, Taharat 38)
According to this verse and this hadith, whoever catches and pulls out, whether it is dead or alive, the fish and all types of seafood are permitted to eat.
