Islam and the Quran

When should one stop drinking before starting fast?

Question: When should the people who have alcoholic drinks (intoxicants) on other days, but not in Ramadan, stop having alcohol and start fasting and prayers?

As it is clearly understood from the 90th and 91st verses of Surah Al-Ma’ida, a Muslim mustn’t use intoxicants and must always keep the distance from them. Although some may know that it is unlawful, they may be incontinent of alcohol and keep having  alcohol as they still perform their prayers and fast.

Intoxicants are unlawful. One cannot avoid obeying other commands of Allah since he commits one sin. Performing other worships and commands of Allah would help him refrain from unlawful deeds.
