Is it sufficient for two rich persons (husband and wife) in one family to offer one sacrifice, or do they have to offer one per each person? Me and my wife, we both are working. Do we both have to offer sacrifice?
According to the Hanafi madhhab, sacrifice on eid-al Adha is an obligation on those who can afford to do so. The majority of scholars are of the view that it is not necessary for all members of a family who live under the same roof and the same budget, to offer sacrifice. One sacrifice will be enough if it is offered on behalf of all members of the family. It is possible to follow the opinion of the majority.
