Question: My mother passed away at the age of 53 and my father is recently at the age of 55. Dear professor, of course by Allah’s grace my father will get married some day. Could you enlighten us regarding the prospective marriage? When should this marriage take place considering the decease date of my mother?
There’s no need for your father to wait in order to marry again. He can marry as soon as he finds an eligible candidate. It’s not the men, but the women that are bound to wait for a specific period (four months and ten days) in order to get married again.
