Surah an-Nas
114. Chapter Humankind / Surah an-Nas[1]

 بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Beneficent

 

{قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ {1

  1. Say: “I take refuge in the Master of humankind,

مَلِكِ النَّاسِ {2}

  1. the sovereign of humankind,

إِلَهِ النَّاسِ {3}

  1. the deity of humankind,

مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ {4}

  1. from the evil of the sneaking whisperer.

الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ {5}

  1. He whispers into the chests of humankind.

مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَ النَّاسِ {6}

  1. He is whether among jinn or humankind[2].

 

 

 

 

[1] Sent down in Madina, consists of 6 verses. Named after the word “nas” mentioned in the chapter, which means “humankind”.
