Islam and the Quran

Is it permitted to collect donations of Non-Muslims for Islamic charity?

Question: Can we collect donations from Non-Muslims for religious services like building schools that teach Islamic sciences or covering the expenses of these kinds of schools? Is it permitted to receive financial aid from Jews and Christians in these things?

It is not right to ask for donations of Non-Muslims for Islamic services like building a mosque, etc. Because this can force them to help a religion which they don’t believe in. They may feel themselves under pressure. But if they -without any pressure- give you financial aid willingly, there is nothing wrong in receiving and using it.
