Surah Ad-Duha

 بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Beneficent

وَالضُّحٰىۙ {1}

1. By the morning light,

وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا سَجٰىۙ {2}

2. And by the night when it covers [everything with its darkness and becomes still],

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلٰىۜ {3}

3. Your Master has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased with you.

وَلَلْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْاُو۫لٰىۜ {4}

4. And surely the end will be better for you than the beginning.

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْط۪يكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَـرْضٰىۜ {5}

5. And surely your Master will give to you, and you will be well-pleased.

اَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَت۪يمًا فَاٰوٰىۖ {6}

6. Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] shelter?

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَٓالاًّ فَهَدٰىۖ {7}

7. And did He not find you unaware [of the Book and faith] and guide [you]?

وَوَجَدَكَ عَٓائِلاً فَاَغْنٰىۜ {8}

8. And did He not find you in need and make [you] self-sufficient?

فَاَمَّا الْيَت۪يمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْۜ {9}

9. Therefore, as for the orphan, do not treat [him] harshly.

وَاَمَّا السَّٓائِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْۜ {10}

10. And as for the one who asks, do not chide [him].

وَاَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ {11}

11. And as for the blessing of your Master, speak [of it].
