بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Beneficent
يَٓا اَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَٓا اَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ لَكَۚ تَبْتَغ۪ي مَرْضَاتَ اَزْوَاجِكَۜ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُورٌ رَح۪يمٌ {1}
1. O Prophet! Why do you prohibit what God has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? God is the One Who forgives much, and He is the Beneficent.
قَدْ فَرَضَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ تَحِلَّةَ اَيْمَانِكُمْۚ وَاللّٰهُ مَوْلٰيكُمْۚ وَهُوَ الْعَل۪يمُ الْحَك۪يمُ {2}
2. God has already ordained for you the way to release yourselves from your oaths. God is your Protector, and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
وَاِذْ اَسَرَّ النَّبِيُّ اِلٰى بَعْضِ اَزْوَاجِه۪ حَد۪يثاًۚ فَلَمَّا نَبَّاَتْ بِه۪ وَاَظْهَرَهُ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ عَرَّفَ بَعْضَهُ وَاَعْرَضَ عَنْ بَعْضٍۚ فَلَمَّا نَبَّاَهَا بِه۪ قَالَتْ مَنْ اَنْبَاَكَ هٰذَاۜ قَالَ نَبَّاَنِيَ الْعَل۪يمُ الْخَب۪يرُ {3}
3. The Prophet had told a secret to one of his wives. When she disclosed it and God made it known to him, he [the Prophet] made part of it known [to her] and avoided part of it. When he informed her about it, she asked: “Who informed you of this?” He said: “The All-Knowing, the All-Aware has informed me.”
اِنْ تَتُوبَٓا اِلَى اللّٰهِ فَقَدْ صَغَتْ قُلُوبُكُمَاۚ وَاِنْ تَظَاهَرَا عَلَيْهِ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ مَوْلٰيهُ وَجِبْر۪يلُ وَصَالِـحُ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَۚ وَالْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ ظَه۪يرٌ {4}
4. If both of you turn to God in repentance [it is better for you], for your hearts have already swerved [from the right]. But if you support each other against him, then [know that] God is his Protector, and Gabriel and the righteous of the believers [are also his supporters]; and the angels, after that, are his assistants.
عَسٰى رَبُّهُٓ اِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ اَنْ يُبْدِلَهُٓ اَزْوَاجاً خَيْراً مِنْكُنَّ مُسْلِمَاتٍ مُؤْمِنَاتٍ قَانِتَاتٍ تَٓائِبَاتٍ عَابِدَاتٍ سَٓائِحَاتٍ ثَيِّبَاتٍ وَاَبْكَاراً {5}
5. If he divorces you, his Master may well give him in your stead wives better than you: submissive to God, believers, obedient, repentant, devout in worship, fasters — both previously married and virgins.
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا قُٓوا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَاَهْل۪يكُمْ نَاراً وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَا يَعْصُونَ اللّٰهَ مَٓا اَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ {6}
6. O you who have gained faith! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones. Over it are angels, stern and severe, who do not disobey God in what He commands them and carry out what they are commanded.
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا الْيَوْمَۜ اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ۟ {7}
7. O you who have ignored the truth! Make no excuses today. You are only being recompensed for what you used to do.
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا تُوبُٓوا اِلَى اللّٰهِ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحاًۜ عَسٰى رَبُّكُمْ اَنْ يُكَفِّرَ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ وَيُدْخِلَكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْر۪ي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهَارُۙ يَوْمَ لَا يُخْزِي اللّٰهُ النَّبِيَّ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا مَعَهُۚ نُورُهُمْ يَسْعٰى بَيْنَ اَيْد۪يهِمْ وَبِاَيْمانِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّـنَٓا اَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَاۚ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَد۪يرٌ {8}
8. O you who have gained faith! Turn to God in sincere repentance. Your Master may well cover your evil deeds and admit you into gardens through which rivers flow. On that Day, God will not let the Prophet and those who have gained faith with him be shamed. Their light will be streaming before them and on their right. They will say: “Our Master! Perfect our light for us and grant us forgiveness. Surely, You are the One Who has set a measure for everything.”
يَٓا اَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ جَاهِدِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِق۪ينَ وَاغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْۜ وَمَأْوٰيهُمْ جَهَنَّمُۜ وَبِئْسَ الْمَص۪يرُ {9}
9. O Prophet! Strive against those who ignore the truth and the hypocrites, and be firm with them. Their destination is Hell; and what an evil destination it is!
ضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلاً لِلَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا امْرَاَتَ نُوحٍ وَامْرَاَتَ لُوطٍۜ كَانَتَا تَحْتَ عَبْدَيْنِ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا صَالِحَيْنِ فَخَانَتَاهُمَا فَلَمْ يُغْنِيَا عَنْهُمَا مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـٔاً وَق۪يلَ ادْخُلَا النَّارَ مَعَ الدَّاخِل۪ينَ {10}
10. God sets forth an example for those who ignore the truth: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under [the wedlock of] two of Our righteous servants, but they both betrayed them. So, they [the husbands] could not avail them anything against God, and it was said [to the women]: “Enter the Fire along with those who enter!”
وَضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلاً لِلَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا امْرَاَتَ فِرْعَوْنَۢ اِذْ قَالَتْ رَبِّ ابْنِ ل۪ي عِنْدَكَ بَيْتاً فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّن۪ي مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِه۪ وَنَجِّن۪ي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِم۪ينَۙ {11}
11. And God sets forth an example for those who have gained faith: the wife of Pharaoh. She said: “My Master! Build for me a house in Your presence, in the Garden; and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds, and save me from the people who are wrongdoers.”
وَمَرْيَمَ ابْنَتَ عِمْرٰنَ الَّت۪ٓي اَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا ف۪يهِ مِنْ رُوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتْ بِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِه۪ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْقَانِت۪ينَ {12}
12. And [He also sets the example of] Mary, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into it [her womb] from Our spirit. She accepted the truth of the words of her Master and His Books, and she was of the obedient.
